About Us
Growing up my family had an English Springer Spaniel. My first experience involving the dog world was when I showed our family dog in 4-H. I won Best In Show not knowing anything about dog shows. That is all it took; I was hooked. In 1974, I was working for the local vet and met Jan Mau of Ramsgate Springers. She taught me how to show and trim springer spaniels. Through out the years, I met many wonderful people who mentored me in how to handle dogs at dog shows, how to groom competivly, and taught me how to train obedience dogs. I valued all their help and knowledge. I also worked part time for several sporting dog handlers while going to school.
I am a small in-home breeder who is passionate about producing quality over quantity. I usually only have one or two litters per year. I run a grooming shop: Blue Ribbon Dog & Cat Grooming out of my home. When I do have puppies, they are well socialized to adults, children, and other animals. Temperament is foremost in my decisions, along with producing the highest quality English Springer Spaniel. I am fortunate to have a style of springer that is known worldwide. I have tried to keep to my foundation ideal which dates back to the famed Salilyn Kennels. To date I have produced 98 champions in America as well as Canada and several South American countries. I also have produced countless obedience, rally, Utility, tracking, and Working titled dogs. Many of my dogs are behind some of the top dogs in the country and have been the foundations for many springer kennels. I am very dedicated to the health and genetics of the breed, and I try to keep current with all health clearances and ask my puppy owners to do the same. One of my greatest joys over the years is the happiness these dogs have given their owners and the many friends this has brought me. Other activities over the years are the modeling jobs in which many of the dogs have been involved. Those jobs include magazine ads, dog food bags, fashion shows, as well as TV commercials.
I am a member of our parent club - English Springer Spaniel Field Trail Association, a life member of the Kennel Club of Yorkville, and work with the local rescue societies.
